Friday Night 02:58
Another rainy Sunday night, I hope for the best Got a pocketful of worries and a pain in my chest The mourning dogs are barking as the garbage trucks pass Soon I‘ll get that Monday morning kick in the ass Until then, I’ll try to get through And all night I’ll dream about you Friday night, all the kids are screamin Friday night lil Suzie’s dreamin bout Friday night It’s all that I got when I gotta get through Tuesday night fights that I can hear from my room Wednesday morning tedium and lunchtime at noon Thursday’s filled with promise and hope for the past Friday’s expectation’s it’s the weekend at last Until then, I try to get through And all night, I dream about you. Friday night, all the kids are screamin Friday night lil Suzie’s dreamin bout Friday night It’s all that I got when I gotta get through Wondering where you been to when I’ll see your lil face again Contemplatin all those changing faces in to the wind… Friday night

Walkin down the street a little shuffle to my feet No one I wanna meet and that garbage sure smells sweet today So I hum a little tune bout that perfect day last June When the rains came and washed my sins away I felt like a reborn messiah who couldn't get no higher Than the city's breathin in my face that day Yeah all my problems fell away from me Like on that road to Galilee except when I got there all was not as planned Gethsemane looked like shit and there was nowhere left to sit Because the Christians had decided to parade I don't like the way you live and I got less than you to give Don't give a fuck about your rational excuses I got a million ways to orchestrate my self abuses Sittin in my room and I'm still hummin on that tune The moon makes me think all kinda crazy things So I gather up my ghosts, who I cherish more than most And we make a solemn toast to the one they call the host Father, son and holy ghost, it's always you that I liked most Priest he makes his toast and the wine it turns to blood And my mouth becomes the host Cause I don't like the way you live and I got less than you to give Don't give a fuck about your rational excuses I got a million ways to orchestrate my self abuses First you tell me this: You know what's in my head And next you tell me that I'd be much better off instead Of causin all this trouble and startin all this shit I should learn to sit right back down and learn to swallow it So I said, please excuse me sir. Pardon me Ma'am I don't like what I'm hearin and I just don't give a damn About the way you think, your silly way of life Well I don't care about your husband so go fuck your perfect wife Cause I don't like the way you live and I got less than you to give Don't give a fuck about your rational excuses I got a million ways to incorporate my self abuses and you ain't one

Guthrie 02:29
Well somewhere in the summertime in 1993 Bought a big ol chevy van, eight other guys and me Ran around to a bunch o towns, hit a couple o bad ones too And I kept em all inside of me, until I knew just what to do I got to change my name to Guthrie and the writing’s on the wall Change my name to Guthrie yeah and I won’t feel so small Change my name to Guthrie grab this whole world by the balls Change my name to Guthrie, tho no one would really care too much at all Right around the same time, I moved to Brooklyntowne Found a brand new playground where I could mess around I spent a lotta nights walkin 42nd street, ya know sometimes I got lucky But most times I got beat That’s why I gotta change my name to Guthrie and the writing’s on the wall Change my name to Guthrie yeah and I won’t feel so small Change my name to Guthrie grab this whole world by the balls Change my name to Guthrie, tho no one would really care too much at all. Well Woody wrote a song about the great Grand Coulee Dam Sung it to the workers all across this land Now I ain’t even qualified to sing about Afganistan So I came up with this plan... And it ain’t half assed bad, right? Said I got to change my name to Guthrie and the writing’s on the wall Change my name to Guthrie yeah and I won’t feel so small Change my name to Guthrie grab this whole world by the balls Change my name to Guthrie, tho no one would really care too much at all

Mace is on the corner sellin dreams for a quarter It’s a dime for a dozen and a nickel for your thoughts He’s got an old suede jacket and a black slouch hat Like a pawn shop bellhop he like’s it like that Oh oh oh And Danno did his time for a juvenile crime And now he’s tryna put it all together one last time I seen him walk on water, seen the fire in his eyes And he left em all in stitches while his insides cried Oh oh oh Billy thinks he’s suicidal and John is seeing things Brian’s reading all the blood signs and I’m waitin in the wings For my chance to blow it all wide open, tear this world apart Don’t care if you got vision, as long as you got heart, and I say Oh oh oh And Danno did his time for a juvenile crime And now he’s tryna put it all together one last time I seen him walk on water, seen the fire in his eyes And he left em all in stitches while his insides cried Oh oh oh Well my Uncle Charlie lived in Texas and that’s a far aways away from me Ya know I visited him twice in prison and one time when he was free I used to have these dreams about him, that they would let him out to visit me And then I’d wake up with a funny feeling, like somehow he was next to me Now I know that he’s done alotta bad things, like his head was split into three: One of em was Uncle Charlie, two’s the devil and the 3rd one’s me All the men in the jail ain’t innocent And all the people on the street they ain’t free Theres a lil bit o crime in every young man’s heart Take a look in his eyes and you’ll see
